For a decade, the City of Hillsboro manually read and billed the vast majority of its aging meters every other month – making it difficult for customers to budget for the water usage portion of their bills. Additionally, the system was vulnerable to cross-connection situations that could have compromised the municipal water supply. Since the installation of Neptune’s R900^® System, the City has been able to show customers their water consumption and possible leaks using hourly data logging information, while getting a handle on the backflow risk it faced.
